πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ REFUGEE HEARING IN CANADA: Are You Prepared?

A refugee hearing is an important step in your journey to seek protection in Canada. Knowing what to expect and preparing your case carefully can make a real difference.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before your hearing:

βœ… Understand the details of your refugee claim
βœ… Review your documents and supporting evidence
βœ… Be truthful and explain your experiences in your own words
βœ… Review your timeline and discuss any inconsistencies before the hearing

Remember, the decision-maker may ask questions about your experiences and why you are seeking protection. Take the time to understand your case and prepare carefully.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ REFUGEE CLAIM REFUSED? You May Still Have Options.

Receiving a refusal on your refugee claim can be overwhelming. But before making your next move, it’s important to understand whether you are eligible to appeal and what steps may be available in your situation.

Here are 3 things to keep in mind:

βœ… Know your deadline: Eligible appeals have strict filing deadlines.
βœ… Review the decision: Understand the reasons behind the refusal.
βœ… Prepare your case: Your appeal must follow the required process and address the decision.

⚠️ Not every refused refugee claim is eligible for an appeal to the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD). Acting promptly is important.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Sponsoring a Relative With a Past Visa Refusal? Don't Make This Mistake!

Has your spouse or family member been refused a visa before? Don't assume that your Canadian sponsorship journey is over.

A previous visa refusal does not automatically mean your sponsorship application will fail. However, hiding a past refusal can create much more serious problems.

Before applying, remember to:

βœ… Disclose previous visa refusals honestly
βœ… Explain why the refusal happened
βœ… Provide relevant supporting documents
βœ… Review your complete immigration history

Every case is different, and the right approach depends on your circumstances.

Planning to sponsor your spouse or another eligible family member in Canada? Get your immigration history reviewed before submitting your application.

PRRA Refused? What Happens Next? πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Receiving a refusal on your Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) application can be stressful, especially when you are worried about being removed from Canada.

But do you know what options may be available after a refusal?

Depending on your situation, you may be able to explore:
βœ… Judicial review
βœ… A Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) application
βœ… A request to CBSA to defer removal

⚠️ Important: These options do not automatically stop removal. Deadlines can be short, so getting proper legal advice as soon as possible is important.

Every case is different. Speak with a qualified immigration professional to understand your available options.

When Love Isn’t Enough on Paper β€οΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

A genuine relationship can still face unexpected immigration barriers.

For some couples, a Humanitarian & Compassionate (H&C) application may be relevant when the regular immigration pathway doesn’t fit their circumstances.

H&C applications can involve factors such as:
β€’ Genuine family relationships
β€’ Hardship caused by separation
β€’ Establishment in Canada
β€’ Health and family circumstances
β€’ Safety concerns
β€’ Strong supporting evidence

An H&C application is not a shortcut or a guarantee. Every case is different, and the details and evidence matter.

If you and your partner are facing an immigration barrier or possible separation, get professional guidance before making your next move.

Before your hearing, make sure your case is:

βœ… Clear
βœ… Truthful
βœ… Consistent
βœ… Supported by evidence

Your preparation should reflect your actual circumstances and the documents available in your case.

If you have an upcoming refugee hearing and are unsure how to prepare, professional guidance can help you understand the process and your options.

Your Refugee Claim Was Refused. What Happens Next?

A refusal from the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) does not always mean the end of your case.

In eligible cases, you may be able to appeal the decision to the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD).

But there is one thing you cannot afford to ignore: time.

⏰ Generally, you have:

β€’ 15 working days to file the Notice of Appeal
β€’ 45 days to file the complete Appellant’s Record

Not every RPD decision is eligible for a RAD appeal, and the correct next step depends on the circumstances of your case.

If your refugee claim has been refused, don't wait until the deadline is approaching. Get your options assessed as soon as possible.

RPD refugee claim refused? Don’t wait. ⏰

A refusal from the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) does not necessarily mean the end of your case. Depending on the decision and your eligibility, you may have the option to appeal to the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD).

The important part? The deadlines.

πŸ“Œ Generally, you have 15 working days to file the Notice of Appeal after receiving the RPD’s written reasons.
πŸ“Œ You generally have 45 days to file the complete Appellant’s Record.

Not every RPD decision is eligible for a RAD appeal, and the process is different from simply having your refugee hearing again.

If your refugee claim has been refused, don’t wait until the deadline is close. Get your options assessed as soon as possible.
