Express Entry is changing on November 3, 2026. 🇨🇦

IRCC is introducing new CRS points linked to:

✅ Eligible Canadian work experience in a high-wage occupation
✅ Qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations
✅ The occupation’s NOC median-wage level

Job-offer CRS points will be:

• 100 points at 2× or more of the median wage
• 70 points at 1.5× to less than 2×
• 50 points at 1.3× to less than 1.5×
• 0 points below 1.3×

The points for Canadian work experience and a job offer will not be combined. The higher applicable result will be used.

An LMIA will no longer be required for qualifying job-offer CRS points, but IRCC will still assess whether the offer is genuine, the employer has a real business need, and the candidate is qualified for the position.

Existing profiles will be recalculated automatically. Candidates relying on job-offer points should update their profiles before November 3.

A high-wage occupation does not guarantee CRS points or an Invitation to Apply. Every profile must be assessed on its own facts.

A major Express Entry update takes effect on November 3, 2026.

IRCC is introducing a new Labour Market Integration factor that may award CRS points based on:

✅ Canadian work experience
✅ A qualifying high-wage job offer

Depending on the occupation’s national median wage:

• High-wage Canadian experience may add 20, 40 or 70 points
• A qualifying job offer may receive 50, 70 or 100 points

If a candidate qualifies under both, the scores will not be added together—IRCC will use whichever provides the higher result.

Another major change: an LMIA will no longer be required for a qualifying job offer to receive these CRS points. However, an LMIA will not provide extra points or priority either.

The offer must still be genuine, and IRCC may assess the employer’s business, labour need, ability to honour the offer, compliance history and the candidate’s qualifications.

Important: “High wage” is based on the national median wage of the occupation, not simply the salary being personally offered.

Existing Express Entry profiles will be recalculated automatically, but candidates claiming job-offer points should review their profiles before November 3.

Every profile is different. Confirm your NOC, wage band, work history and job-offer conditions before claiming points.

IRCC invited 5,000 candidates through the French-language proficiency category.

✅ Invitations issued: 5,000
📊 CRS cut-off: 435
⏰ Tie-breaking rule: October 6, 2026 at 21:31:22 UTC

To qualify for this category, candidates generally require NCLC 7 or higher in all four French-language abilities and must be eligible under an Express Entry program.

Remember: CRS 435 applies specifically to this category-based draw—it is not a general Express Entry cut-off.

A major change is coming to Express Entry on November 3, 2026.

IRCC is introducing a new Labour Market Integration factor that will reward eligible candidates through either:

✅ Canadian work experience—with an additional 20, 40 or 70 points for qualifying high-wage occupations; or
✅ A qualifying high-wage job offer—worth 50, 70 or 100 points.

It’s official—Canada’s Immigration Minister will announce changes to Express Entry tomorrow, October 16, at 11:00 a.m. ET.

IRCC has not yet disclosed what will change. No speculation—we’ll share a clear, verified update following the official announcement.

Another Canadian Experience Class draw—and the invitation size has increased! 🎉🇨🇦

IRCC’s October 15, 2026 draw:

✅ Invitations issued: 2,500
📊 CRS cut-off: 519
⏰ Tie-breaking rule: September 21, 2026 at 19:00:47 UTC

Compared with the previous CEC draw:

⬆️ Invitations increased from 2,000 to 2,500
⬆️ CRS moved slightly from 518 to 519

Since August 5, IRCC has conducted six CEC draws and issued a total of 12,500 invitations.

The continued CEC draws and larger invitation size are encouraging. However, the CRS remains competitive—showing why every additional point can matter.

Congratulations to everyone who received an ITA! For those still waiting, keep your Express Entry profile accurate, updated and ready. 🇨🇦

Good news—the official IRCC Application Status Tracker is live again! ✅

Once you receive your Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), you can:

1️⃣ Visit the official IRCC Application Status Tracker
2️⃣ Sign in or create an account
3️⃣ Use GCKey or a Canadian Sign-In Partner
4️⃣ Enter your application details and view your status

The tracker currently supports:

▪️ Spousal, partner and dependent-child sponsorship
▪️ Express Entry
▪️ Study permits
▪️ Work permits
▪️ Visitor visas

Applicants, sponsors and authorized representatives can use the tracker, and the information is updated daily.

Important: You cannot use the tracker until an AOR has been issued.

NEW PASSPORT? UPDATE YOUR OCI DETAILS WITHIN 3 MONTHS

Important update for OCI cardholders travelling to or from India. 🇮🇳

According to the public notice issued by the Consulate General of India, Vancouver on October 14, 2026:

✅ Update your passport details in your OCI record—including e-OCI registration—every time a new passport is issued
✅ Complete the update within 3 months of the new passport’s issuance
✅ The notice states that this applies irrespective of age
✅ You may continue travelling to or from India after submitting the update while final acknowledgement is pending

Do not wait until your travel date. Update your OCI details promptly and keep proof of submission with your travel documents.

Always verify the latest requirements through the official OCI portal or the appropriate Indian consulate before travelling.

We reviewed every Express Entry draw held between January 1 and September 30, 2026—and the official numbers tell an interesting story. 🇨🇦

📊 58 rounds of invitations
✉️ 131,715 total ITAs
🎯 0 general draws

Every invitation was issued through a targeted route:

▪️ Category-based selection: 67,195 ITAs
▪️ Canadian Experience Class: 55,250 ITAs
▪️ Provincial Nominee Program: 9,270 ITAs

French-language selection alone accounted for 50,500 invitations—making it one of the most significant features of Express Entry in 2026.

The quarterly pace also changed:

▪️ Q1: 55,830 invitations
▪️ Q2: 33,237 invitations
▪️ Q3: 42,648 invitations

Q3 had the highest number of draws, but the lowest average number of invitations per round.

What should candidates understand?

✅ Express Entry selection has remained highly targeted
✅ Canadian experience continues to play an important role
✅ Category eligibility can be as important as the CRS score
✅ PNP cut-offs should not be compared directly with CEC or category-based draws
