Orange Shirt Day | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, APA cadets proudly wear orange shirts to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the lasting impacts on Indigenous families and communities.

As future public safety professionals, we recognize the importance of listening, learning, and fostering relationships built on respect, understanding, and reconciliation.

Every Child Matters.

👮‍♀️👮 Police don't ever want to be shown up by their firefighting comrades, they also took part in the 9/11 memorial stairclimb at the Credit Union Place this past weekend. Way to show up, put in the work and pay tribute to those who lost their lives saving others 25 years ago.

APA Cadets are stellar. 👌 🚔

⭐ Featured AWLE Conference Session ⭐

Two incredible presenters. One powerful conversation.

Join Carol Richard and Gineen Nichols for Beyond the Uniform: Understanding Hormones, the Nervous System, and Women's Well-Being at our upcoming Atlantic women in Law Enforcement conference.

Women in law enforcement carry demands that are not always visible. Shift work, disrupted sleep, exposure to difficult situations, responsibility for others, and the pressure to remain composed can continue affecting the body long after a shift has ended. When hormonal changes are added to years of accumulated stress, many women begin experiencing anxiety, exhaustion, brain fog, sleep difficulties, anger, tears, physical changes, or a reduced capacity to manage what they once handled with ease.

In this compassionate and practical conversation, nervous system coach Carol Richard and menopause coach Gineen Nicholls will explore the relationship between hormones, stress, emotions, and the nervous system. Together, they will help women understand what may be happening beneath the surface, reduce the shame that often surrounds emotional and physical changes, and recognize the ways their bodies may be asking for greater support.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their experiences and gentle, practical ways to create more steadiness, self-trust, and choice, both behind the uniform and beyond it.

🎟️Limited spots available for this October conference! https://awle.org/conference/
