Effective September 14, 2026, Immigration New Brunswick has removed the sector-wide restriction on Accommodation and Food Services (NAICS 72) under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
This means eligible occupations in restaurants, hotels and accommodation businesses can once again be considered for AIP endorsement, provided they are not on New Brunswick’s restricted NOC list.
✅ Examples of occupations 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞
🔹 NOC 62200 – Chefs
🔹 NOC 63200 – Cooks
🔹 NOC 63202 – Bakers
🔹 NOC 62021 – Executive Housekeepers
🔹 NOC 62024 – Cleaning Supervisors
🔹 NOC 64300 – Maîtres d’hôtel & Hosts/Hostesses
🔹 NOC 64301 – Bartenders
🔹 NOC 64314 – Hotel Front Desk Clerks

❌ NOC 60030 – Restaurant & Food Service Managers

These are part of New Brunswick's broader restricted NOC list, which also includes certain occupations outside NAICS 72.
📌 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓
The above occupations are examples, not the complete list. Under the September 14 change, occupations in NAICS 72 are generally eligible for AIP endorsement consideration unless specifically included on the restricted NOC list.
However, eligibility does not guarantee selection for processing. New Brunswick states that limited endorsement allocations and high demand mean not every eligible application will be selected. The province considers factors including employment duration, economic establishment/attachment to New Brunswick, and priority-sector employment.
