It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the loss of one of the greatest trial lawyers of the 20th and 21st century, Gerry Spence. He passed peacfully at home last night at the age of 96. Gerry was a legend among the trial bar — especially for his civil practice and criminal defense work. He was the founder of the highly selective Trial Lawyers College (TLC), from which I attended in 2010-2020 and learning the TLC methods from Gerry and some of the finest trial lawyers in North America made me a better human being and forever changed the way I practice law. I owe so much to him and to TLC, Kent Spence, and the entire clan🙏... Si and Gerry will be good company for each other. Two warriors, less than a year.

🪧 | The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Board of Governors has conditionally approved the relocation of the Notre Dame Hounds to the community of Warman for the 2025-2026 season.

The relocation is contingent upon approval by Warman City Council and a successful season ticket and corporate sponsorship drive in the community.

My heartfelt condolences to Kathy and the family of Silas Halyk who passed away peacefully this week with Kathy by his side. Sy was my mentor and founder of The Barrister Group. He was and is Saskatchewan's most renowned Jury trial lawyer who represented people first, he was the Wayne Gretzky of the Saskatchewan legal profession.
