True story.

Our first time home buyers work harder than any of our other clients.

The first home is the hardest to buy because you have to prove where your down payment money came from and people usually have some level of debt (car payment, student loans) they are working around.

Financing is way easier for lateral or second time buyers because the downpayment often comes from equity in the current home (easy to prove) and you have established mortgage history by now.

I initially saw this line come across my feed from another agent and thought, “Oh, that’s good marketing.”

And then I thought, wait… no, it’s not?

The line goes: “Your first home has one job: to get you into your next home.”

Which is very true. Your first home can be a catalyst for the next. However! A first home has so many jobs.

It teaches people important life things, like maintaining equipment and a yard. It teaches money management. It teaches you the cost of renovating, and the cost of not renovating!

First homes are often where families are born, where babies grow into children. First homes keep you safe. They show you what you need (and don’t need) in a second home.

Some first homes are just a stepping stone. Others are such a major part of shaping the future that we couldn’t possibly reduce their importance to that of one single job, just for the sake of buying another home.

Some people who are less mushy and sentimental than me might disagree, and that’s fine.

My people will find me. ✌️😘

Their little boy changed everything.

Before he came along, the house was fine. The neighborhood was fine. Life fit.

1. I worked as a server for 10 years, starting at age 13. I worked at Smitty's the longest. I also worked at Grekos, The Diplomat and Swiss Chalet. I had one regular receptionist job and hated it.

2. I did one semester of university and quit. I always planned to go to University. I finished high school a few months early and even went back to Adult Campus for a few extra science classes so I could go to University and do whatever I wanted if I wanted.

3. I am extraaaaaaa introverted. I work really well with small groups of people and get super anxious for big events.

4. We had a Covid-19 wedding that included 26 people while I was 23 weeks pregnant. We were supposed to get married in September of 2021, but I figured I couldn't manage my business, a newborn and a wedding at the same time. So we moved the date up and had to tell all our guests we were expecting lol.

5. At 12 years old, my grandfather took me to work with him building kitchen cabinets. Both as a way to spend time with me and to keep me out of trouble. Every day of the summer in 2007 he picked me up and took me to work with him. I often fell asleep on the way there and I think I made $1600 the whole summer. I learnt a lot doing this and I have quality memories of my gramps who has now passed.
