🚨 CANADA SUSPENDS SOME "LOST CANADIANS" CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATES

Thousands of people around the world became eligible for Canadian citizenship after Bill C-3 came into effect in December 2025.

But now, some of those who already received their Canadian citizenship certificates have been asked by IRCC to return them while their files undergo further review.

According to reports, IRCC has issued suspension notices to certain certificate holders, citing concerns about supporting documents and requesting additional evidence before confirming eligibility.

The move has left many applicants shocked, especially those who had already made major life plans based on their newly acquired Canadian citizenship status.

πŸ“Œ What happened?

πŸ‘‰ Bill C-3 expanded citizenship by descent beyond the first generation born outside Canada.

πŸ‘‰ More than 4,000 people have already received citizenship certificates under the new rules.

πŸ‘‰ Some recipients are now being asked to surrender their certificates pending review.

πŸ‘‰ Experts say it is unusual for citizenship certificates to be suspended after issuance.

At this time, it remains unclear how many people are affected or what prompted the review.

If you obtained Canadian citizenship through the recent "Lost Canadians" changes, it may be important to monitor communications from IRCC and ensure your supporting documents are complete and readily available.

πŸ’¬ What do you think? Should Canada honour citizenship certificates that have already been issued?

BREAKING: Manitoba has officially retired the Career Employment Pathway (CEP), one of the key PR routes for international graduates ‼️

The province is now moving students away from β€œstudy β†’ job offer β†’ PR” and toward a more structured model built around real in-province work experience first.

Under the new system:

πŸ‘‰ CEP is closed immediately
πŸ‘‰ The Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway becomes the main route
πŸ‘‰ 6+ months of continuous full-time work is now a key requirement for many candidates
πŸ‘‰ Selection is now more aligned with labor market demand

If you’re currently in Manitoba or planning to study there, don’t panic! Manitoba still has other immigration pathways worth exploring.

‼️ Your PNP work permit may no longer depend on getting an AOR first

For months, many PNP applicants have been caught in a frustrating situation.

Their permanent residence application had already been submitted.

But because IRCC hadn't issued an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) yet, they couldn't meet the requirements for certain work permit applications.

The result? Some workers risked losing their ability to work while waiting for a document that was delayed by processing timelines, not by anything they did wrong.

This created a ripple effect:

πŸ‘‰ Work interruptions for applicants
πŸ‘‰ Status concerns for families
πŸ‘‰ Additional administrative work for provinces that sometimes had to re-issue nominations

IRCC has now acknowledged this problem:

πŸ“Œ Under a temporary measure, officers may accept alternative proof that a PR application has been submitted when assessing certain in-Canada PNP work permit applications.

πŸ“Œ For PNP applicants whose permits are approaching expiry, this temporary flexibility could provide an important bridge while they wait for their files to move forward.

πŸŽ“ Did IRCC Issue Your Study Permit for Less Time Than Expected?

In some cases, IRCC may issue a study permit with a shorter validity period based on concerns related to the application, supporting documents, or financial circumstances.

The good news? A shorter permit doesn't necessarily mean the end of your studies; it may simply mean you'll need to apply for an extension later.

➑️ Swipe to learn why this happens and see how we recently helped a client's children successfully obtain their study permit extensions.

If your permit is shorter than your program or your renewal is coming up, contact our team for expert support.

πŸ“£ Newfoundland & Labrador Just Released Another Draw β€” June 10, 2026

NL continues its consistent draw activity with another round of invitations out today.

βœ‰οΈ Total ITAs Issued: 108

Swipe for more details πŸ‘‰

πŸ“Œ The AIP allocation held steady at 19, exactly the same as the May 28 draw. This consistency is telling. NL employers are continuously using the Atlantic Immigration Program to bring in workers they cannot find locally.

πŸ“Œ Newfoundland and Labrador remains one of the most consistently active Atlantic provinces for immigration draws β€” and with genuine labour shortages across healthcare, skilled trades and technology, the province has real reasons to keep inviting workers.

…

Congratulations to all 108 candidates who received an invitation! πŸŽ‰

Yukon Opened a New Licensing Pathway for US-Trained Physicians ! πŸŽ‰

The details are here. Yukon has launched a dual pathway licensing process in collaboration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC β€” and it is already active.

Here is exactly how it works:

β†’ U.S.-trained physicians can now apply with one set of documents to get licensed in two Canadian jurisdictions simultaneously β€” BC and Yukon

β†’ Once a physician's credentials are approved in BC, Yukon licensing officers can use that approval to register the candidate in the territory almost immediately

β†’ This applies specifically to American Board-certified physicians

β†’ Regulatory amendments are also underway to create a direct licensing path for U.S.-trained doctors in Yukon β€” separate from the BC pathway

β†’ This dual pathway complements a recruitment campaign Yukon launched several weeks ago targeting U.S. family physicians

πŸ“Š To put this in context β€” since BC streamlined US credential recognition in 2025:

β†’ BC has received more than 2,750 job applications from US healthcare workers as of March 2026

β†’ More than 400 U.S. healthcare professionals had already accepted job offers in BC's public health system as of January 2026 β€” including 89 doctors

πŸ“Œ Yukon is actively removing barriers for U.S.-trained physicians.

If you’re a US-trained physician considering a move to Canada, this pathway was built for you.

‼️ Canada is opening the floor for opinions again β€” and this time, it goes beyond Express Entry ‼️

IRCC is currently gathering public and organizational feedback to help shape Canada’s next Immigration Levels Plan, along with broader immigration policies, programs, and service delivery improvements.

The Levels Plan influences who Canada prioritizes, how many are invited, and which pathways are expanded or tightened β€” from Express Entry to PNPs, and even employer-driven streams.

If you’ve been affected by delays, shifting requirements, or changing priorities in the system β€” this is the moment to speak up, not stay silent.

πŸ“Œ Deadline to submit feedback: June 14, 2026

Your input may be included (anonymously) in the final report that helps guide future immigration directions in Canada.

Policies shape outcomes.

And silence shapes nothing.

πŸ‘‡ Comment down below! What issues or improvements do you think Canada’s immigration system needs right now?

We will be submitting our own feedback as well, reflecting real client experiences and the gaps we see on the ground. If you’re impacted by the system, your voice matters too.

The AIP is an employer-driven immigration pathway designed to help designated employers in Atlantic Canada attract and retain international talent.

For eligible candidates, it can provide a pathway to permanent residence through employment with a designated employer in:

πŸ“Newfoundland & Labrador
πŸ“Nova Scotia
πŸ“New Brunswick
πŸ“Prince Edward Island

Some benefits of the program include:

βœ”οΈ Employer-driven pathway
βœ”οΈ No Express Entry profile required
βœ”οΈ No LMIA required for qualifying positions
βœ”οΈ Opportunity to apply for permanent residence if program requirements are met

However, it's important to remember:

⚠️ Not all employers are hiring
⚠️ Not all occupations qualify
⚠️ Eligibility requirements must still be met

A successful immigration strategy starts with understanding which pathways fit your profileβ€”not chasing every program you see online.
