🚨 CANADA SUSPENDS SOME "LOST CANADIANS" CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATES

Thousands of people around the world became eligible for Canadian citizenship after Bill C-3 came into effect in December 2025.

But now, some of those who already received their Canadian citizenship certificates have been asked by IRCC to return them while their files undergo further review.

According to reports, IRCC has issued suspension notices to certain certificate holders, citing concerns about supporting documents and requesting additional evidence before confirming eligibility.

The move has left many applicants shocked, especially those who had already made major life plans based on their newly acquired Canadian citizenship status.

📌 What happened?

👉 Bill C-3 expanded citizenship by descent beyond the first generation born outside Canada.

👉 More than 4,000 people have already received citizenship certificates under the new rules.

👉 Some recipients are now being asked to surrender their certificates pending review.

👉 Experts say it is unusual for citizenship certificates to be suspended after issuance.

At this time, it remains unclear how many people are affected or what prompted the review.

New Brunswick has officially announced the results of its latest immigration draws, issuing a total of 699 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) and selecting 97 Atlantic Immigration Program applications across multiple pathways.

BREAKING: Manitoba has officially retired the Career Employment Pathway (CEP), one of the key PR routes for international graduates ‼️

The province is now moving students away from “study → job offer → PR” and toward a more structured model built around real in-province work experience first.

Under the new system:

👉 CEP is closed immediately
👉 The Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway becomes the main route
👉 6+ months of continuous full-time work is now a key requirement for many candidates
👉 Selection is now more aligned with labor market demand

‼️ Your PNP work permit may no longer depend on getting an AOR first

For months, many PNP applicants have been caught in a frustrating situation.

Their permanent residence application had already been submitted.

But because IRCC hadn't issued an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) yet, they couldn't meet the requirements for certain work permit applications.

The result? Some workers risked losing their ability to work while waiting for a document that was delayed by processing timelines, not by anything they did wrong.

This created a ripple effect:

👉 Work interruptions for applicants
👉 Status concerns for families
👉 Additional administrative work for provinces that sometimes had to re-issue nominations

IRCC has now acknowledged this problem:

📌 Under a temporary measure, officers may accept alternative proof that a PR application has been submitted when assessing certain in-Canada PNP work permit applications.

📌 For PNP applicants whose permits are approaching expiry, this temporary flexibility could provide an important bridge while they wait for their files to move forward.

Yukon Opened a New Licensing Pathway for US-Trained Physicians ! 🎉

The details are here. Yukon has launched a dual pathway licensing process in collaboration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC — and it is already active.

Here is exactly how it works:

→ U.S.-trained physicians can now apply with one set of documents to get licensed in two Canadian jurisdictions simultaneously — BC and Yukon

→ Once a physician's credentials are approved in BC, Yukon licensing officers can use that approval to register the candidate in the territory almost immediately

→ This applies specifically to American Board-certified physicians

→ Regulatory amendments are also underway to create a direct licensing path for U.S.-trained doctors in Yukon — separate from the BC pathway

→ This dual pathway complements a recruitment campaign Yukon launched several weeks ago targeting U.S. family physicians

📊 To put this in context — since BC streamlined US credential recognition in 2025:

→ BC has received more than 2,750 job applications from US healthcare workers as of March 2026

→ More than 400 U.S. healthcare professionals had already accepted job offers in BC's public health system as of January 2026 — including 89 doctors
