Today the Prince Rupert and District Chamber of Commerce had the opportunity to meet with Naveen Rai, Regional Director and Chanya Chawla of Bank of Canada, Vancouver over coffee at Javadotcup.

The duo came to Prince Rupert to learn more about the economic conditions and local business experiences from a macroeconomic perspective. These conversations help the Bank of Canada support its work in making policy decisions aimed at maintaining low and stable inflation.

It was interesting to learn that there has been an economic growth in recent times compared to the last quarter of 2025 and first quarter of 2026.
