Today, Friendship Home hosted an Open House BBQ!

It was great to have staff from across our different Youth teams stop by, connect, and celebrate the home and the important work happening there.

Did you know?
Friendship Home was originally built in the late 1990s and was known as the Safe House.

In 2003, the Safe House relocated as part of the expansion of our Reconnect program. Friendship Home continued as a 6-bed resource, evolving to provide longer-term care, stability, and support for youth ages 12–18.

A big thank you from Jaemmy and her Team to everyone who joined us today to celebrate!

Strathcona Neighbours

Our Place to Dream is once again hosting our annual Neighbourhood BBQ! It's our way of giving back, connecting with our neighbours, and being a good neighbour. We hope you'll stop by, grab some lunch, and say hello!

Did you know?
Our Place to Dream began with a conversation sparked by a Nezul Be Hunuyeh manager and BC Housing, who brought others to the table. From those conversations, Carrier Sekani Family Services, the Prince George Native Friendship Centre, Elders and Youth formed a Steering Committee that helped bring the vision to life.

Today, Our Place to Dream provides 12 supportive housing units and services for young adults ages 19–27.

This weekend is the PGX, and all of our programs and Youth Council are getting in on the fun! 🎡🎢

Our youth have been working hard, completing 3 hours of reciprocity to attend. 🙌 They’ve been giving back in so many ways assisting staff in cleaning fleet vehicles, vacuuming, tidying the drop-in and offices, handing out water and snacks during the hot weather, and picking up garbage.

So proud of these youth, their hard work, and the spirit of reciprocity they’re showing! ❤️

And if you’re 27 or under and curious about how to get involved, stay tuned! 👀❤️ We’ll be sharing information soon on how you can join our Youth Council, get connected, and have your voice heard! 🙌

🌸 Reciprocity — The Spirit of Giving Back 🌸

When asked, “What can we do to lift others up?” our staff and youth decided on a simple act of kindness. ❤️

Three youth created tiny flower bouquets 💐 and delivered them to the hospital—leaving them on windshields and handing them to people as they came outside.

A little flower, an unexpected smile, and a beautiful reminder of what reciprocity and giving back can look like. 🌸

🌟 Shout out to our My Way Youth team! 🌟

This long weekend, our team hit the road to connect with youth by delivering Blizzards and plenty of smiles! 🍦

Every holiday, our My Way Youth staff find creative ways to stay connected with the young people they support. Whether it's delivering treats, meals, supply kits, or planning outings, they're always finding meaningful ways to remind youth they're supported and never alone.

Did you know? Our My Way Youth Inter-dependent Living Program supports 30 youth in our community, helping them build life skills, pursue education and employment, find safe and stable housing, and prepare for adulthood.

A huge thank you to our My Way Youth team for going the extra mile not just on holidays, but every day. Your compassion and commitment make a difference! ❤️

Hello Friends!

We were hoping for a change in the weather, but for now our food trailer is packing up due to the rain. ☔️

We'll keep an eye on the weather and, if the games get underway, we'll reopen later today. Stay tuned for updates! 😊
