"Should we set up a charity or a non-profit?"
It is one of the commonest questions I hear from founders, and the two words do not mean the same thing in law. The choice you make at the start shapes everything that follows, and it is hard to undo later.
The single biggest difference comes down to one thing: the tax receipt. If your plan depends on donations, that one fact probably decides the question for you.
