Law Firm Merger Announcement

The law firms of Barker Willson and Bond & Hughes are excited to announce that they will join forces as of July 31, 2019. The merged firm will continue under the name Barker Willson.

Barker Willson has offices in Perth and Westport. Michael Reid, David Heeley, John O'Connor, and Craig Halpenny, have over 120 years of combined experience. Byron Cavanaugh joined the firm as an associate in March 2018. Chris Clifford serves as personal injury counsel for the firm.

Jim Bond and Scott Hughes practiced together at their office in Perth as Bond & Hughes until Jim's recent retirement after 47 years.

The lawyers and staff from both firms will complement each other in client service areas, skills, and expertise. Each firm's clients will continue to receive the same responsive and efficient service from the lawyers they have come to trust and know, and will also gain access to others with various expertise. We see the merger as an opportunity to build upon the strengths of each firm and to make improvements on how we deliver services.

The combined firm will offer services in real estate, business/corporate law, civil litigation, municipal law, wills and estates, family law, land development, land disputes, employment law, and personal injury.

Scott Hughes and his staff will move to Barker Willson's Perth office (267-2800) at 31 Foster Street on August 3rd, but will continue to be reachable through their current Bond & Hughes phone number (267-1212) and bondhughes.ca emails after the merger.
