The RDOS Emergency Operations Centre has issued an update on the Bald Range wildfire and ongoing recovery efforts.

Residents are reminded to stay informed through official sources, review re-entry information if returning to an affected area, and remain alert for smoke, spot fires and ongoing recovery work.

The ESS Reception Centre at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre will conclude in-person operations at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 28. Phone support will continue daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at 250-486-1890.

There’s some encouraging news in the latest update on the Bald Range Wildfire.

Some areas of Summerland and Electoral Area “F” have now been downgraded from an Evacuation Order to an Evacuation Alert, allowing some residents to begin returning home where it is safe to do so.

We know this has been an incredibly difficult time for many families and our community. While there is still work to be done, this is a positive step forward.

The RDOS has also opened a Recovery Centre in Summerland to help residents access information, resources and support.

Good morning,

Davie & Associates is a Penticton litigation law firm that has been part of the community since 2001.

Like everyone in the South Okanagan, we have been deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the Bald Range wildfire and the impact it has had on local families and businesses.

As people begin the difficult process of rebuilding, many will also have questions about their insurance coverage and what their policies provide.
