Today, September 30, we honor the National Day of Remembrance for Native American Boarding Schools. We remember the children who were taken from their homes and communities, and the many who never returned. Their voices, their futures, and their presence were stolen but their memory lives on.

On this day, we commit to truth, healing, and justice. We carry their stories forward so they are never forgotten.

🚨 Attention: Indigenous Former Youth in Care & Their Families!

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the federal government seeking justice for Indigenous children and their families who were removed from their homes and placed in foster care. This lawsuit aims to compensate those harmed by government policies that disrupted Indigenous families, communities, and cultural connections.

Claims period opens on March 10, 2025

Who is included?
You may be eligible if you are:
✔️ First Nations Children who, while under the Age of Majority between April 1, 1991, and March 31, 2022, were removed from their homes by Child Welfare Authorities or voluntarily placed into care; and
✔️The removal from home happened while the Child or their Caregiving Parents or Caregiving Grandparents were Ordinarily Resident on Reserve1 or living in the Yukon; and
✔️The placement was funded by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC).

Why does this matter?
This lawsuit acknowledges the devastating impact of these removals and seeks to hold the federal government accountable. It’s a step toward recognition, healing, and compensation for those affected.

What can you do?
✅ Visit: fnchildclaims.ca to learn more.
✅ Check eligibility: Review the criteria and see if you or your family qualify.
✅ Spread the word: Share this post to help others affected by these policies.

Justice is long overdue. If you or your loved ones were impacted, take action today. 💙
