The government is currently offering money back to first-time home buyers.
Under Bill C-4, you could get a rebate when you buy your home. For example, that’s about $14,000 back on a $400,000 home, and up to around $45,000 on a $1,000,000 purchase.
You may have heard about other rebates being talked about recently. Right now, those are just proposals and haven’t been approved yet. Bill C-4 is the only program that’s confirmed and in place today.
If you’re planning to buy, it’s best to base your numbers on what’s guaranteed, and treat anything else as a possible bonus for now.
