I’m happy to announce that a new Open Work Permit program ,for In-Canada PR applicants, will open on July 26, 2021.

The New Open Work Permit option for Permanent Resident applicants who applied under the new “Temporary resident to permanent resident pathway” (TR to PR) that opened in May 6, 2021.

This option is available for applicants who have already submitted their applications under the TR to PR program, met the application requirements, Residing in Canada (outside Quebec), hold a valid work permit that is about to expire within 4 months, hold a valid Temporray Resident Status (or eligible to apply for restoration of status), submitted their application while they were residing in Canada, were legally employed at the time of their application, have met the English language requirements of the Permanent Residence Immigration stream under which they applied.

The new open work permit application is similar to the “Bridging Work Permit” option for In-Canada applicants (Quebec not included) who applied for PR under the Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class, certain PNP programs, Home Child-Care Provider, Caring for Children Class, Caring for people with high medical needs, and, the Agri-Food Pilot.
