Summary

SKS Law LLP is seeking a clerk to assist our corporate and litigation departments at our Ottawa office. SKS Law LLP is a boutique law firm with offices in Ottawa and Vankleek Hill servicing small to medium sized businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of several hundred minute books as well as some litigation support.

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the closing of commercial transactions, reorganizations and acquisitions.
- Assisting with the preparation of general corporate documents including articles of incorporation, articles of amendment, by-laws, resolutions, registers and share certificates.
- Conducting minute book reviews and updating the corporate minute books.
- Maintaining and updating the firm database of companies.
- Conducting due diligence, corporate searches and registrations.
- Creating and maintaining an electronic minute book system.
- Filing court documents.
- Attending to service of court documents.
- Preparing and assembling documents for court.
- Scheduling court hearings.

Requirements
- Experience as a corporate clerk or litigation clerk will be considered an asset.
- Completion of the Law Clerk program at an accredited college.
- Must be proficient with the use of computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Must have excellent written and communication skills.
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Bilingual in French and English an asset.
