Fraud today might sound like the voice of someone you know or look like a message from your bank.

While scammer tactics are becoming more sophisticated, so too are the strategies and resources available to protect yourself.

We encourage anyone impacted by fraud to report their case to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Reporting fraud allows law enforcement to identify patterns, issue public warnings, and build cases against the people behind the schemes.

Our heartfelt thank you to every neighbour who made last weekend’s food and bike drive our most successful effort to date.

Together we collected nearly a dozen bikes for Helping With Furniture / Aidons avec des meubles, gathered heaps of food donations for the Ottawa Food Bank, enjoyed a treat from our friends at Juice Dudez, read festive books from the Ottawa Public Library / Bibliothèque publique d'Ottawa's Cumberland branch, and coloured with the kids.

We couldn't think of a better way to end this year than being surrounded by neighbours and doing something helpful for each other. Until next time!

A couple of weeks ago, FACES Magazine informed us that our founder and principal lawyer Sherif Rizk was nominated for an Ottawa Award in the categories of Lawyer and Litigator.

Having this local recognition would be a great honour, and would uplift the work we do in cases of civil justice. This is because local recognition gives us a louder microphone, one that is heard more clearly in the public and judicial system.
