Latest Express Entry French‑speaking Draw – April 15, 2026

IRCC has invited 4,000 French‑speaking candidates with a minimum CRS score of 419.

This is another strong round for French‑speaking applicants, even though the score rose by more than 20 points compared with the last French‑language draw on March 18.

The draw highlights that French remains a clear priority for IRCC, especially for candidates planning to settle outside Quebec. While the higher cutoff suggests more competition, French proficiency continues to be one of the strongest advantages in Express Entry.

📌 For candidates already improving their language scores, this is another sign that French can open important doors to permanent residence.

✨ Big Changes to Canada’s Immigration System – Effective Jan 1, 2026! ✨

Canada has rolled out important updates to make immigration more accessible and transparent:

✅ Graduate Students – Master’s & PhD students no longer need Provincial/Territorial Attestation Letters (PAL/TAL). Doctoral students now benefit from expedited study permit processing.
✅ Entrepreneurs – The Start-Up Visa program has closed to new applications, with a new pilot program for immigrant entrepreneurs coming in 2026.
✅ Ontario Workers – Faster mobility for out-of-province professionals under the new “As of Right” framework, plus a ban on requiring “Canadian work experience” in job postings.
✅ Alberta Pathways – Stricter requirements for the Rural Renewal Stream, including valid work permits and capped endorsements.

📌 These changes aim to streamline processes, reduce barriers, and open new opportunities for international students, workers, and entrepreneurs.
