“Move-in ready” is one of those real estate terms people hear all the time… but what does it actually mean? 👀🏡

Simply put: it means you can comfortably move into the home right away without needing major repairs or renovations first.

Usually, that means:
✔️ Working plumbing, electrical & heating
✔️ A clean, livable space
✔️ No urgent structural or safety concerns
✔️ Functional kitchens & bathrooms

But here’s the important part ⬇️
Move-in ready doesn’t always mean:
❌ Brand new
❌ Fully renovated
❌ Ultra modern
❌ Perfectly your style

A home can still be “move-in ready” while having older finishes, cosmetic updates you’d want to make, or little projects for later.

At the end of the day, move-in ready is more about functionality than perfection!

What actually happens during a home inspection? 🏡🔍

A home inspection is usually one of the final steps before buying a home. A certified inspector spends a few hours going through the property from top to bottom to check the overall condition of the home.

Here’s what they typically look at:
• Roof & attic
• Foundation & structure
• Plumbing & electrical systems
• Heating & cooling systems
• Windows & doors
• Insulation & ventilation
• Walls, ceilings & floors
• Appliances included with the sale

The inspector is looking for safety concerns, signs of damage, things nearing the end of their lifespan, or repairs that may be needed soon.

After the inspection, buyers receive a detailed report with notes, photos, and recommendations. From there, they can decide if they want to move forward, negotiate repairs, request credits, or simply have peace of mind knowing exactly what they’re buying. ✔️
