Valerie Black is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Barreau du Québec. She practices mainly in the area of criminal law in Quebec and Ontario, and family law in Ontario. She holds Common Law and Civil Law degrees from McGill University as well as an Honor's Bachelors degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from the University of Ottawa. She is on the board of the Innocence McGill Legal Clinic and is also the founder and Executive Director of the Canadian Journal of Law and Justice.
