Yesterday, March 31, 2025 was the last day of my legal practice. I will continue to provide consulting services in the area of Community Wealth Building strategy, Integral Coaching and research in the area of Earth law and Inherent Relationships Jurisprudence under Integral North. However,I will not be doing so in the capacity of providing legal services. I was honoured and humbled to practice law for the past 13 years. Most of this was in the area of immigration law, as well as co-operatives/non-profit law and Wills & Powers of Attorney.

In the next couple of weeks I will be reaching out to any of my clients, that I am holding original estate documents for, to either pick them up from me or to consent to transfer these documents to a well know law Firm in Ottawa for safe keeping. Glad to see this is happening in Ottawa. The Ottawa Renewable Energy Coop proved the concept. Now the Ottawa Community Land Trust is showing how community bonds can be useful in supporting the affordable housing market. What other sectors could we support using this community wealth building tool? Stay tuned!

At a time when many philanthropic funders are looking to address the power imbalance between community organizations and their funders, supporting community bond issuers and building a thriving marketplace is one way to do so.

This is a very interesting article. At United Way East Ontario, we are very big on "Collective Impact" as a strategy or process for achieving lasting change. I wonder how different this approach is?

Funders are shifting from being at the center of social change efforts to working in close partnership with the broader ecosystem of stakeholders necessary to sustain lasting change.
