You may have already received a notice regarding the Vacant Unit Tax (VUT), arriving in homeowners’ mailboxes or inboxes for each property that they own.

Important: The VUT does NOT apply to a principal residence; however, a declaration is still required.

Only residential properties NOT being used as principal residences that have been unoccupied for at least 184 days will be subject to the tax, but as of January 2023 ALL homeowners will be required to file the required “occupancy status declaration”.
