🌲’Tis that time once more, but this year, it carries a different beat. We’ve lent our ears to our unhoused and most vulnerable Neighbours, and now we seek your support.
This holiday season, we will be embracing a practical approach as our guiding star, as our Neighbours have voiced their immediate needs. No fancy stockings or gift bags are their lists – they’ve got enough to carry. Our Neighbours are yearning for safe sustainable shelter, but for now, survival essentials are paramount.
Consider these thoughtful gifts:
🌟 Resources
🌟 Sleeping bags
🌟 Tents
🌟 Fresh underwear
🌟 Ground mats and tarps
🌟 Hand warmers
🌟 Ensure or Boost
🌟 Cozy socks
🌟 Bottled water
🌟 Lanterns or flashlights
🌟 Gloves
🌟 Gift cards for indoor eateries
🌟 Safe shelters
While we provide daily meals, we’re also on the lookout for those willing to bake treats, craft sandwiches, or prepare individual frozen meals. You could even fill one of our crockpots with soup, stew, or chili. Our pantry craves non-perishable food, bread, portable snacks, juice, canned meat, and meal replacements. Remember, this need transcends the holiday season, so any time of year will do.
Drop off your contributions between 12-5, Tuesday through Saturday, or reach out to us, and we’ll strive to accommodate your schedule.
Until mid-January, we won’t be accepting household items, as our Furniture Bank is well-stocked. Our focus remains on those still without shelter. We’ll keep you posted if we need more.
Thank you for being a beacon of compassion for your Neighbours.
