On this, the day of William Shakespeare's birth, I found this list too fascinating not to share. You really do learn something new every day (and I don't know if The Bard said that, too, but would it surprise you?) E.

I retired in September 2020. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all my clients and colleagues over the 33 years of my family law practise. It was a good run, and I wish you all the best going forward.

Is your ex refusing to cooperate to have your jointly owned house sold but doesn't have the means to buy you out? I can help with a court order for sale and an order that the property will be vested (transferred) into your name alone to get the property sold.

Do you have to give half money inherited from a family member to your separated spouse? Not necessarily. However, if you took all or part of the inherited money and spent it on your home, that part (or all) of the inheritance is gone and cannot be deducted from property available for sharing on separation. If you want to protect your inheritance, then keep it in a separate account in your name alone; and keep documentation to prove and trace the evolution of that money: from the estate, to your bank account, to your investment. Obviously different circumstances have different outcomes, so if you need more information, please feel free to contact me!
