On Orange Shirt Day, it is important to recognize that there are more indigenous children in care now than ever before. Removed from their families, their communities and their culture, Indigenous children growing up in foster care face very similar outcomes as their ancestors. Our government agencies continue to systemically marginalize indigenous communities through Children’s Aid Societies, education and the police.
