About Citizenship by Investment (CBI) and List of Benefits
Certain Caribbean countries (Islands) have quickly become an attraction for international investors. Through luxury and other, investment grade and free-hold property purchases, applicants and their families can receive citizenship and begin to enjoy the added benefits of their investments.
Successful CBI applicants are required to make full payment on their property investment in addition to all processing fees before receiving their citizenship. Once payment is received, applicants take the oath of allegiance and are advised of the procedure to obtain their passports.
In some countries, CBI passport holders are required to spend at least five (5) days in their chosen and designated country, in some cases, during a five (5) year period. Passports are valid for five (5) years and will be renewed provided the holders spend the minimum required time in their chosen designated home-away-from-home. If the investor chooses to invest in real estate, the property purchased shall also be held for a minimum period of five (5) years, after which the citizenship becomes permanent and the property can be sold. In certain other cases, a straight-out financial investment towards the designated chosen country’s infrastructure project(s) would suffice to satisfy CBI criteria.
