Due to the freezing rain warning in Oromocto today and the slippy roads in the local area, our physical office will be closed to the public today.

All scheduled meetings between client and lawyer will be rescheduled or take place via Zoom today (client’s option). Lawyers will be working remotely during our usual business hours.

Think spousal support is a given? It's not that simple. The lower earner doesn't automatically get spousal support after separation. The courts consider various factors like income, duration of the relationship, career or education sacrifices, and each spouse's needs before making a decision. So, it's less about "who earns more" and more about "what's fair for both."

A good lawyer knows that encouraging fights between spouses is like throwing gasoline on a campfire: it may make things more exciting, but it’s a fast way to burn down the whole forest. While we won't pretend that needlessly aggressive over-charging lawyers are a figment of your imagination, it's not normal behavior.

Good lawyers prefer their clients' money to stay in their pockets, not in endless legal battles, and give advice accordingly, even if it means telling their own client that they are being unreasonable.
