There's a handful of people in my career who I can genuinely say have inspired me. About five years ago I attended a real estate seminar to hear one of Canada's top agents speak. What I didn't realize at the time was that Conrad Zurini was also on the program. By the end of the evening my one takeaway was that I wanted to work for him and his company.
Not long afterward I made the move and had the privilege of joining RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara. Since then I've continued to learn from Conrad through his seminars and online content. But what always stood out to me was that despite the company's size and success, it never lost its sense of family ownership. No matter how busy Conrad was or where in the world he happened to be, if you needed help working through a problem you could call him and he'd make time. That culture of agent support and success was a direct reflection of his leadership.
He was one of the great minds in Canadian real estate and a passionate advocate for his agents. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from him.
I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Zurini family, his friends, colleagues and everyone whose lives he touched.
He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Conrad.
