π’ Ontario just gave higher earners a boost on the road to PR!
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has added a new top bracket to its scoring under the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream (OWPS). The change took effect on October 5, 2026 and was applied automatically to existing profiles.
π° Canadian work experience: earnings points

π Good to know:
β
Earnings are based on your annual income on a CRA Notice of Assessment from the past five years
β
Higher scores mean a better chance of being invited to apply for provincial nomination
β
Once nominated, you can apply to the federal government for permanent residence
β
For now, the OWPS is the only way to pursue provincial nomination through Ontario
More Ontario streams are on the way, including Priority Healthcare, Entrepreneur and Exceptional Talent, but no launch dates have been announced yet.
If you're working in Ontario, or planning to, your income history could now make a real difference to your score. π Let's look at your profile together and plan your next steps toward PR. π¬
