🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

imposes a cap on family applications, effective June 26, 2024.

The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration has set a limit of 13,000 applications through to June 25, 2026:

• 10,400 for spouses, common-law partners, and dependent children (18 and up).
• 2,600 for parents, grandparents, and other eligible relatives.

Exemptions include a sponsor’s dependent minor child, minor children the sponsor wishes to adopt, orphaned minor relatives, and dependent adult children with disabilities.

Once the cap is reached, applications will no longer be accepted, and non-exempt applications will be returned.

Important things to know about the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program.

1. Proof of funds is not required for the application.
2. You need at least one year of Canadian skilled work experience within the past three years.
3. Work experience gained during your studies in Canada does not count.
4. You can combine different, unrelated Canadian work experiences to qualify, such as three months as a carpenter, four months as a social worker, and five months as a bus driver.
5. Your work experience does not need to be continuous; gaps between jobs are acceptable.
6. You can combine one year of Canadian work experience with your foreign work experience.
7. The CEC PR program allows you to settle anywhere in Canada except Quebec.
8. Skilled trades-related work experience is acceptable for qualification.

Without a valid travel document, returning to Canada as a permanent resident (PR) could pose challenges when using commercial transportation like flights, trains, buses, or boats. Depending on your situation, there are three types of PR travel documents available:

1. Confirmation of Permanent Residence document (COPR): Designed for PR visa holders, this document allows entry into Canada but cannot be reused for future travel. It's a one-time use travel document.

2. Permanent Residence Travel Document (PRTD): If you're outside Canada without your PR card, lost it abroad, or it expired during your absence, a PRTD is necessary for reentry. It's valid for a single entry.

3. Permanent Residence Card (PR Card): Serving as both identification and a reusable travel document, the PR Card permits multiple entries for PRs.

Exciting Update from Marc Miller, Minister of IRCC!
Marc Miller, the Minister of IRCC, has pledged to tackle the pressing issue of expiring work permits for post-graduation work permit holders in Manitoba. He's introducing a new public policy aimed at issuing time-limited open work permits.

“With Manitoba seeking assistance for 6,700 temporary residents whose work permits are set to expire in 2024, we recognize the vital role these individuals play in meeting the province's labor demands. To address this, we're rolling out a public policy to grant open work permits to eligible temporary workers in Manitoba's Expression of Interest pool under PNP”

🌍These permits will be accessible to nomination-ready temporary residents employed in Manitoba, providing them with a pathway until they can secure an official nomination and subsequently obtain permanent residency through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
