Today is National Health & Fitness Day, and I’ll be the first to say it: when you’re going through a divorce, "fitness" is usually the last thing on your mind. 👟

When you’re navigating legal meetings, moving boxes, and emotional highs and lows, the idea of hitting the gym can feel like just another chore on a never-ending to-do list. 😮‍💨

But at The Divorce Circle, we look at health and fitness a little differently. In this season of life, movement isn't about "getting fit", it’s about processing stress.

Divorce puts your body in a constant state of "fight or flight." That tension you feel in your shoulders or that restless energy at night? That’s your body holding onto the transition.

Moving your body, whether it’s a 10-minute walk around the block, a quiet yoga flow, or a heavy lifting session, is one of the fastest ways to lower those cortisol levels and clear your head.✨

It’s about reclaiming your strength, one step at a time. It’s about proving to yourself that you are capable of doing hard things.

So today, don't worry about a "perfect" workout. Just move for your mind. Your body will thank you for the release. 🤍

How are you moving your body to release some stress this week? Let’s share some ideas below. 👇🏽

One of the biggest mistakes I see during a divorce? Waiting until the separation agreement is signed to talk about the mortgage.

You don’t have to have all the answers to start asking the questions. 🏠✨

When it comes to divorce and mortgages, I see so many people wait until their separation agreement is fully signed before they even think about the house. I get it, it feels like one thing at a time is all you can handle.

But in reality: Your mortgage is often the biggest piece of your financial puzzle.

🌟 If I could give you one piece of advice, it’s this: Talk to a mortgage professional early.

You don’t need a finalized deal to run the numbers. Knowing if you can stay in your home or what your buying power looks like now gives you a position of strength during negotiations.

It turns "I hope" into "I know ."

Separating your life is heavy work, but your housing doesn't have to be a question mark. We’re here to help you find the period at the end of that sentence.

Have you started thinking about your "home" goals for this next chapter? Send me a DM, I’m happy to help you find some clarity. 🤍

A Simple Will Is Better Than No Will🎙️

Many people delay estate planning because they think it has to be perfect.

Nicole Garton explains why even a simple will is far better than having none at all.

"When was the last time you did something just because you wanted to do it?" 🌿

The first summer after a divorce can feel a bit quiet. When the kids are away with your co-parent or those usual "family traditions" look different this year, that silence in the house can feel heavy. It’s easy to focus on the empty chair at the table.

But I want to invite you to look at this season through a different lens: This is your summer to reclaim your joy. ✨

When you’ve spent years compromising on where to eat, what destination to pick for your summer getaway, or how to spend your weekends in the sun, you can actually lose touch with what you like. This is your season to rediscover it.

Maybe it’s…

☀️ Taking that solo hike at the crack of dawn.

☀️ Spending time wandering the local farmer's market without checking your watch.

☀️ Finally trying out that paddleboard you bought.

☀️ Or simply sitting on your patio with a book and a coffee, enjoying the peace.

Reclaiming your joy isn't selfish, it’s an essential part of your healing. You aren't just "passing the time" until the kids come back; you are building a life that you actually enjoy living.

So, what is one thing you’ve been wanting to do just for yourself? Tell me in the comments, let’s inspire each other to make this a summer of "me." 👇🏽

If you’re looking for a book that truly shifts how you view your relationship with your kids, especially during a big life transition, I can’t recommend Hold On to Your Kids by Dr. Gordon Neufeld and Dr. Gabor Maté enough. 📖

✨During a divorce, it’s so easy to get caught up in the "business" of co-parenting: the schedules, the hand-offs, and the rules. But this book reminds us of the one thing that matters more than any logistics: Attachment.

One of my favourite takeaways from the book is this:“

Unconditional parental love is the indispensable nutrient for the child’s healthy emotional growth... The child can be ornery, unpleasant, whiny, uncooperative, and plain rude, and the parent still lets her feel loved.” ❤️

In the middle of "new normals," our kids don't need us to be perfect.

They just need to know that no matter which house they are sleeping in, or how messy their big feelings get, our love for them is the one thing that never shifts. We are their steady anchor. ⚓️

How are you finding small ways to "reattach" and create those moments of connection this week? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments.👇🏽
