Parents & Grandparents Sponsorship Update (PGP)

IRCC has issued Ministerial Instructions confirming that:
❌ No new PGP sponsorship applications will be accepted in 2026
✅ Only applications submitted in 2025 will be processed in 2026
🎯 Up to 10,000 of those 2025 files will be accepted for processing
📌 Applies to the Parents & Grandparents PR sponsorship program under the Family Class

New intake may resume only if future instructions are issued by the Minister.

IRCC has updated its website to list the NOC codes that qualify for an additional 50 CRS points through a Certificate of Qualification (COQ).

A COQ is issued by the provincial authority that regulates a skilled trade. It confirms that the individual is fully qualified to work in that trade and has successfully passed the required certification exam.
