👉CASE UPDATE Regarding the Finalization of the Notice to Institute Proceedings:
https://www.consumerlawgroup.ca/Class-Action/List-of-Class-Actions/Allan-Memorial-Institute-Experiments-Class-Action
Our lawyers have notified us that they are still awaiting a response from Quebec Superior Court Justice Dominique Poulin concerning their request for a Case Management Conference and subsequent motion they filed with the court due to stalled negotiations with the Defence Team (Royal Victoria Hospital, McGill University and the Government of Canada) over the precise wording of the Notice to Institute Proceedings.
As previously stated, the judge is the only one who can make progress happen with our case and our lawyers must wait for the judge's response.
Our attorneys have reiterated that while they are making every effort, their "hands are still tied" and they will have to wait for the judge's decision - until they receive a date for the Case Management Conference or a ruling on the motion filed to compel the publication of the Notice to Institute Proceedings.
**As always, please remember this is a complex case that will most likely take some time to resolve. So far, the Defendants show no interest in reaching a settlement but this could change.**
Once again, class action litigation is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Despite our need for speed, it takes time and patience.
Our attorneys remain dedicated to continuing to fight for justice on behalf of every member in our class action.
They will also keep class members and members of the general public updated via their website:

Additionally, we will keep everyone updated as well.
Thank you, again for your continuing support! It is appreciated!🙏

Please note the Discovery Process has not started yet and won't begin until after the Notice to Institute Proceedings is published.
Class members will then receive Notices and the Discovery Process will be scheduled.
*Class members are still advised to hold on to their medical records**
Please read #6 on the following document if you would like more information about the next steps in our case and/or you would like to know how to apply directly to the MUHC Access to Information Office for medical records:
