Canada Work Permit Important Update

Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker rules continue to evolve, and understanding the latest requirements is important for both employers and foreign workers. Certain low-wage positions are subject to a 10% cap, while specific sectors and occupations may be subject to a 20% cap on temporary foreign workers.

Another important update: in eligible in-Canada work permit applications where an LMIA is being processed, applicants may have up to 90 days to submit the required LMIA documentation under the applicable concurrent-processing rules.

With work permit policies changing, knowing which rules apply to your specific situation matters. Get informed before you apply or make decisions about your Canadian work authorization.

Are You a Teacher or Education Professional Looking to Move to Canada?

Canada’s 2026 Express Entry system includes Education Occupations as a category for category-based selection, covering eligible roles such as secondary school teachers, elementary/kindergarten teachers, early childhood educators and certain teacher assistants.

But having a teaching background doesn’t automatically mean you qualify for Canadian PR. Your occupation, work experience, education, language ability and overall immigration profile all need to be considered.

🔹 Secondary & Elementary School Teachers
🔹 Early Childhood Educators
🔹 Instructors of Persons with Disabilities
🔹 Teacher Assistants

For eligible education occupations, the current category requirements include at least 12 months of eligible work experience within the past 3 years, along with the other requirements of the applicable Express Entry program and invitation round.

And remember: immigration eligibility and provincial teacher licensing are separate matters. Working as a teacher in Canada may require credential recognition and licensing in the province or territory where you plan to work.

At Euro Consultants Canada Inc., we can help you assess your profile, understand potential immigration pathways and identify the requirements you need to consider before taking your next step.

Your teaching experience could be part of your Canadian immigration pathway. Start by understanding your options.

Eligibility, selection and licensing requirements vary by individual circumstances. An Express Entry profile or category eligibility does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply or permanent residence.

Are You a Tech or Engineering Professional Looking Toward Canada?

Canada’s 2026 Express Entry system continues to include STEM occupations in category-based selection, creating an important pathway to explore for eligible professionals with experience in fields such as engineering and cybersecurity.

But being in a STEM occupation doesn’t automatically mean you qualify. Your NOC, actual job duties, work experience, education, language results and overall Express Entry profile all matter.

🔹 Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineers
🔹 Cybersecurity Professionals
🔹 Geological Engineers
🔹 Engineering Technologists & Technicians
🔹 Insurance Agents & Brokers

One of the most important steps is making sure your NOC accurately reflects your real job duties and that your supporting employment documents are consistent with your claimed occupation.

At Euro Immigration Consultants, we can help you understand your potential Canadian immigration options, assess your profile and review the key factors that may affect your pathway.

Your profession could open doors but the right pathway starts with understanding your profile.

Eligibility and invitation depend on applicable IRCC requirements and the specific circumstances of each applicant. No approval or invitation is guaranteed.

🇨🇦 Study in Canada in 2026? Choose Your Pathway Carefully.

Planning a Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Canada? Your program choice is more important than ever.

Recent IRCC changes mean that program level, field of study and PGWP eligibility can affect your options after graduation.

For many non-degree programs, the field of study must meet specific PGWP requirements, while bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral graduates are exempt from the field-of-study requirement.

Before choosing a college or university, make sure you understand:

🔹 Which program best fits your academic background
🔹 Whether your institution and program are PGWP-eligible
🔹 Applicable field-of-study requirements
🔹 How current policies may affect your post-graduation plans
🔹 Your study permit requirements and overall profile

At Euro Consultants Canada Inc., we help students make informed decisions about their Canadian education pathway from program selection and institution guidance to study permit preparation.

Don’t choose a program just because it looks good. Choose a pathway that makes sense for your goals.

🇨🇦 Canada Visitor Visa Refused? Don’t Just Reapply Blindly.

A visitor visa refusal can be frustrating but reapplying with the same information may not solve the problem.

Before submitting another application, understand what went wrong and what needs to be addressed.

🔹 Review the reasons for refusal
🔹 Identify concerns in your previous application
🔹 Strengthen your supporting documents
🔹 Clearly demonstrate your purpose of visit
🔹 Address financial and home-country ties
🔹 Prepare a stronger, well-supported application

At Euro Consultants Canada Inc., we help you assess your previous refusal and understand the options available for your next step.

Don’t just reapply. Understand the refusal. Prepare strategically.

🇨🇦 Spousal Sponsorship Refused? The 30-Day Deadline Matters.

A refused spousal sponsorship application can be overwhelming, but a refusal does not necessarily mean the journey is over. In eligible cases, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident sponsor may have the right to appeal the refusal to the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD).

⏳ You generally have 30 days from receiving the refusal letter to file the Notice of Appeal.

Before taking your next step, it is important to understand why the application was refused, what evidence was considered, and what appeal options may apply to your case.

Our professional guidance can include:

🔹 Review of the refusal decision
🔹 Assessment of potential appeal options
🔹 Review of supporting evidence and documentation
🔹 Appeal preparation and strategy
🔹 Guidance through the IAD appeal process

Don’t let an important deadline pass while you are still deciding what to do.

Get your refusal reviewed and understand your options as soon as possible.

🇨🇦 Fell Short of Canada’s 730-Day PR Requirement?

Spending extended time outside Canada can raise important residency obligation concerns for permanent residents. But falling short of the 730-day requirement does not necessarily mean you should give up without understanding your options.

Depending on your circumstances, there may be an opportunity to seek relief through an Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) appeal, including consideration of relevant humanitarian and compassionate factors.

Your situation may require a closer look at:

🔹 Physical presence and travel history
🔹 Reasons for time spent outside Canada
🔹 Family, medical or employment circumstances
🔹 Establishment and ties to Canada
🔹 Humanitarian & compassionate considerations
🔹 Applicable appeal deadlines and procedures

⏳ If you have received a residency obligation refusal, timing matters. The appropriate course of action depends on the specific decision and your individual circumstances.

Don’t assume your PR status is automatically lost. Understand the decision and have your case properly reviewed.
