Please join me in welcoming Mason Friendly, who will be joining the Cariati Law team as our new Articling Student.

Mason completed his J.D. at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University and brings a strong academic background along with hands-on legal experience.

Most recently, he worked as a Startup Legal Strategist at the DMZ Startup Legal Clinic, where he managed client files, conducted legal research, drafted legal documents, and supported clients through negotiations and dispute resolution.

In addition to his legal experience, Mason has demonstrated leadership through his involvement with the Lincoln Alexander International Law Society and mentoring fellow law students.

Meet Charlie, our new Summer Student! Charlie is a law student and summer student at Cariati Law, where he brings a strong academic foundation and a growing passion for client advocacy.

He graduated with distinction from the University of Guelph in 2023, earning a degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy with a minor in Sociology.

His undergraduate studies reflect a deep interest in the legal system and its impact on individuals and communities.

He is currently a member of the Queen’s University Faculty of Law, Class of 2028. During his legal studies, he has developed particular interests in personal injury law, labour and employment matters, wills and estates, and real estate litigation.

In addition to his academic pursuits, he is actively involved in student life as a member of the Queen’s Law AI Society and as a goaltender for the Queen’s Law hockey team.

He first joined Cariati Law in February 2024 as an administrative assistant, where he gained valuable hands-on experience supporting the firm’s day-to-day operations and client services.

He has since returned as a 1L Summer Student, continuing to build his practical skills and legal knowledge in a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Outside of the office, he enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. His interests include golf, hockey, baseball, and fishing.

Meet Pasquale, a third-year law student at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and a returning summer student at Cariati Law, an Ontario personal injury law firm.

Pasquale completed his undergraduate degree at York University with distinction, double-majoring in Law & Society and Philosophy.

His academic foundation in legal theory and philosophical thinking has shaped his approach to the law, one grounded in both principle and purpose.

After earning his master's in philosophy, he decided to attend law school, bringing that same intellectual rigor to his legal studies.

Since beginning law school, Pasquale has developed a particular interest in litigation with a focus on personal injury law.

This summer, he's gaining hands-on experience alongside our team, learning what it truly means to advocate fiercely for our clients.

Outside the office, Pasquale is passionate about soccer and golf, sports that have taught him the value of teamwork, discipline, and strategy.

Whether on the field or the course, he brings that same dedication to his work here at Cariati Law.
