Short answer: you can’t extend an Express Entry profile once it expires — it’s only valid for 12 months.
But here’s the part many people don’t realize 👇
You don’t lose your chance just because it expires. You can create a brand new profile right away (even before the old one expires if you’re planning ahead). As long as you still meet the eligibility requirements, you’ll go back into the pool with a recalculated CRS score.
A few things to double-check before you do that:
• Make sure your language test results are still valid
• Check if your passport or any documents are close to expiring
• Update any changes in work experience, education, or marital status
• Recalculate your CRS — it might actually go up with more experience 👀
A lot of people stress when their profile is about to expire, but it’s actually a normal part of the process. The key is to stay updated and re-submit with accurate info.
If you’ve gone through this before, feel free to share your experience — it could really help someone else reading this 🙌
