Called it. Right in the money.

Round 447 landed today, 1 October 2026: Trades Occupations, 3,500 invitations, CRS 476.

We published our 2026 Express Entry predictions back on 14 September and called Trades at a cut-off of 460 to 490 on 2,000 to 4,000 invitations. This round came in at 476 and 3,500, inside both ranges, first try.

2026 is now at 59 draws and about 135,200 invitations. Same point last year: 39 draws, 61,058.

Round #444 went out today, 16 September. Senior managers with Canadian work experience, 250 invitations, CRS 389.

This category drew 250 at 429 back in March. Today it drew 250 again and closed at 389. Same volume, 40 points lower.

Volume is normally what moves a cut-off. Invitations go out in score order from the top, so a bigger round reaches further down and closes lower. Hold the volume still and that explanation disappears. What is left is the pool. March and July took the strongest candidates out and not enough have come in behind them.

One caution. A low cut-off in a category round does not mean the category is easy. It usually means the eligible group is small and has already been drawn down. You still need senior management experience in Canada to be in it at all.

Three rounds in three days this week. 56 rounds and 128,982 invitations in 2026.

Express Entry round #443 landed on 15 September, and it went to the Canadian Experience Class: 2,000 invitations at a CRS cut-off of 519.

Read it alongside yesterday and it teaches the whole thing in one go.

Round #442 on the 14th was bigger than its category average and closed below its average score. Round #443 today is smaller than its category average, 2,000 against 3,328, and closed above its average score, 519 against 514. Same relationship, running in opposite directions, two days apart. IRCC invites in CRS order from the top down, so the more people invited the further down the ranking it reaches and the lower the final score. Invite fewer and the score stays higher. That is all a cut-off is telling you, and it is why a score quoted without its invitation volume is close to meaningless.

The other thing worth knowing about 519 is how little it moves. This is the sixteenth Canadian Experience Class round of the year, six in the first quarter, four in the second, six in the third so far, and the entire 2026 range is about sixteen points wide. It is the steadiest number in the system, which is exactly why it is the one to plan against.

2026 now stands at 55 rounds and 128,732 invitations.

Our live trends tracker has already been updated with this round. You can filter every round since 2015 by category, see cut-offs and invitation volumes side by side, and work out where your own category actually stands rather than guessing from the last headline.

Express Entry round #442 landed on 14 September, and it went to the Provincial Nominee Program: 576 invitations at a CRS cut-off of 734.

This is the eighteenth provincial nominee round of the year, from 54 rounds in total so far: 19 in the first quarter, 15 in the second, 20 in the third to date. The provinces have been the most consistent route in the system all year.

Healthcare has moved. This is the one people were waiting for.

Round #441. Healthcare and Social Services Occupations. 3,500 invitations at CRS 475.

71 days since the last healthcare round, and 3,500 is a healthy number. Third of the year: 467, 475, 475. That is 11,500 invitations to the category.

Two category rounds in two days. Physicians on the 3rd, healthcare on the 4th.

Education has been quiet since September 2025. STEM since April 2024. The end of 2026 should bring more of these. Buckle up.

Outside the categories nothing changes your maths. CEC is still 507 to 523. French is still 382 to 420.

53 rounds and 126,156 invitations this year, more than any full year on record.

Round #440. Physicians with Canadian Work Experience. 229 invitations at CRS 198.

Before anyone panics or celebrates: 198 does not mean the pool crashed. It means this category is small and specific, so a round of 229 reaches far down the list. Physicians rounds this year have gone 169, 223, 198.

Third physicians round of 2026. One per quarter. 891 invitations in total.

If you are not a physician, nothing here changes your maths. CEC is still closing 507 to 523. French is still 382 to 420.

2026 is now at 52 rounds and 122,656 invitations, more than any full year on record, with four months left.

Express Entry Round #439 is in. Canadian Experience Class, 1 September 2026, 2,000 invitations at a CRS cut-off of 521.

Two things worth noticing in this one.

The cut-off went up. 521 sits above the 2026 CEC average of 514, and only one round all year has closed higher.

The round got smaller. 2,000 invitations is well under the 2026 CEC average of 3,417, and it continues a pattern we have been tracking all year: CEC issued 30,250 invitations in the first quarter, 11,000 in the second, and it is now running at a fraction of that pace.

Higher score, fewer seats. If you are sitting just under the cut-off, this is the moment to look at where your points can still move rather than waiting for the next round to come to you.

2026 now stands at 51 rounds and 122,427 invitations, more than any full year on record, and there are still four months to go.

Round #438 is in.

Provincial Nominee Program, 31 August 2026. 562 invitations, cut-off 697.

What is worth noting is that this round sat 58 points below the PNP average for 2026 and issued 94 more invitations than the average round in this category.

That makes 50 draws so far this year, 16 of them in Q3.

Our Express Entry tracker updates live and it is already showing this round. Link in bio.
