DID YOU KNOW?
Saskatchewan is home to one of Canada's most unique wills – famously scratched into a tractor fender by a farmer after a tragic accident in 1948. Walter “Bud” Williston was pinned under his tractor and, knowing he might not survive, used a knife to etch his last wishes on the fender. The courts later ruled the fender as a valid will, making it a fascinating piece of Saskatchewan legal history.
The fender is on display at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law Library!
