I was visiting my dentist the other day. While there, I reflected how far we have come. From Vietnam to France and now here. On June 29, 2019, we celebrated our sixth anniversary by sitting on a dock and looking all cute. Time is with loved ones is the biggest reward in life - something which resonates even more to a family lawyer.

This recent addition to our lives definitely has provided me with a better appreciation for parenthood. He has given me a new perspective on life. With his arrival, happiness but also challenges of different scales which I never was aware of, also came. He also helped me understand better what the field of family and divorce law is all about. In so doing, I think that he has taught me many lessons that a law degree or books were not able to.

Like everything in life, prices go up. The Ministry of Finance has just released the new court costs related to family law matters. The court costs alone for a simple divorce went up from $466.00 to $646.00. A bit steep I must say.
