Our kind of summer love ⚾️❤️

Summer is almost over, and if we had to sum ours up, it would be this ⚾️

Reena was always behind the camera, trying to capture every hit. At first, her videos were not so great. Lots of camera shaking and maybe a little too much yelling. But with the help of some amazing baseball parents, she slowly learned the tricks!

And while Ritu may not be in these pictures, she was always right there, watching closely and asking for the count with every play.

This summer was about watching our #17 do what he loves. ❤️

This was our kind of summer love. ⚾️❤️

Sometimes, the seasons we would never choose for ourselves end up changing us in ways we never expected.

They teach us what we’re capable of, what truly matters, what we will no longer tolerate, and how strong we really are.

You may not recognize yourself while you’re going through it but one day you’ll look back and realize that the version of you who made it through was becoming the strongest version of you all along.

Keep going. Your hardest chapter may be creating your strongest one. ✨

Today is Marisa’s last day at Horra Family Law before she heads back to school. 🤍

While we’ll miss having her around, we think someone else is going to miss this summer just as much as we will… Grandpa. ❤️

He loved every part of it, late night texts asking what time he was going to pick her up for work, car rides to and from work, and listening to stories about teenage life.

But his favourite part was their morning coffees together in the office kitchen. ☕️

You’ve made it through the days you thought you couldn’t. You carried things quietly, healed from things you never talked about, and kept going even when it was hard.

Now, give yourself permission to become more than the person who simply survived.

Choose peace. Choose yourself. Choose growth. Choose the life you deserve.

Your next chapter doesn’t have to be about surviving.

It can be about thriving. ✨

Life has seasons. Not every season is meant to last.

A season where everything seems to fall into place.
A season where nothing makes sense.
A season of frustration.
A season of questioning life and your purpose.
A season of building.
A season of letting go.
A season of starting over.

Some seasons are meant to teach you. Some are meant to challenge you. Some change you in ways you never expected.

And sometimes, you have to let go of the season you’re in to make room for the one that’s waiting for you.

Trust that every chapter has a purpose, even the difficult ones. You may not understand it while you’re living through it, but one day you’ll look back and realize it was preparing you for what came next.

Keep going. Your next season may be better than you ever imagined. 🤍

📍 Kitchener-Waterloo — we’re here! 🎉

We are so excited to officially open our new office in Kitchener-Waterloo! ❤️

When we started discussing where to open our next location, there was really no doubt Kitchener-Waterloo was the perfect choice.

🏡For Reena, this area feels a little like home. She attended the University of Waterloo, so returning to the community in a completely different chapter of her life feels incredibly special.

Over the past few months, Reena has been spending more time in Waterloo and, of course, had to stop by a few memorable places from her university days including Residence and some local favourites like Campus Pizza 🍕🎓

There’s something pretty special about returning to a place that was such a big part of your life and now being here to build something new.

Kitchener-Waterloo, we are so excited to be here! 💙

We’re looking forward to this next chapter and, most importantly, to helping more families in the community navigate separation, divorce, parenting, and all of the challenges that come with family law.

Here’s to new beginnings, new connections, and being part of the Kitchener-Waterloo community! ⚖️✨

Sometimes, courage is simply walking into the courtroom when you’re scared.

It’s opening the email from your lawyer even though you’re afraid of what it might say.

It’s reading the documents, facing difficult conversations, making decisions you never imagined you’d have to make, and continuing forward when the process feels overwhelming.

Courage isn’t about knowing how everything will turn out.

It’s showing up anyway.

And sometimes, that is the bravest thing you can do. ❤️

Not on the birth certificate? Think you’re off the hook? 👀

Not so fast.

Being off the birth certificate does not automatically mean you have no obligation to pay child support. Child support is not simply whose name appears on the birth certificate.

💰If you’re unsure about your obligations, get legal advice before assuming you don’t have to pay.

Sometimes, acceptance is realizing that life didn’t turn out the way you planned but that doesn’t mean it can’t still turn out beautifully.

Some things are simply not in our control.
The other person’s behaviour.
Their reactions.
Their choices.
Their goals.
Their willingness to change.

Divorce can change your life, but it doesn’t have to define it. Accept what you cannot control, learn from what you’ve been through, and give yourself permission to build something new.

You may not have chosen the ending, but you can choose what comes next.

Sometimes, the ending you never wanted becomes the beginning you needed. 🤍
