An important construction update regarding the Sunningdale and Richmond intersection. Especially if your community is in this area!

Construction updates:

A traffic shift on Sunningdale Road is planned for June 22.
A two-week closure of Sunningdale Road (both east and west of Richmond) is tentatively scheduled for July 13 or July 20.

Following this, there will be an overnight closure on Richmond Street to complete final topcoat paving.

Sunningdale Road Widening (Wonderland Rd to Medway Creek)

A construction notice was distributed to residents on Friday, June 12.
London Hydro will begin pole relocation work on June 22.

Contractor L82 is expected to mobilize by July 6 to begin preparatory work.

A bridge closure is anticipated in early August, coordinated with other Sunningdale closures to avoid overlapping disruptions.

To help manage detour traffic, traffic calming measures are being installed in key areas across the city, including:
Meadowlands
Quarrier
Pelkey
Plane Tree
Additional materials are on order and will be installed as they arrive.

Sunningdale Rd near Jordan Blvd.
A road closure is scheduled for June 29.
Fanshawe Park Rd. (West of Richmond St)

Road repairs are expected to be completed by the end of this week.

Lane restrictions will be reduced daily, with all lanes reopening at the end of each day where possible.
Fanshawe Park Rd (East of Richmond St)

The Arterial Road Restoration Program is expected to move to Fanshawe Park Road in August, following the Sunningdale/Richmond closure.
Paving will take place overnight to minimize daytime disruption.
Additional watermain and stormwater work has been added, including a watermain replacement between Daleview Cres and Adelaide St.
This pre-work will require some daytime lane restrictions.
Upcoming Project: Gainsborough Rd Rehabilitation

Work on the Gainsborough Road Rehabilitation Project is planned for this summer.

Does anyone else have weather whiplash after these last few days? Because we sure do! ❄⛈❄⛈

If you're pretty much anywhere in Ontario, you've been going through it weather wise over the past 3 days, and we are certainly right here with ya, here in south-western Ontario! The worst part - it's not even close to over 😭

So what does that mean for you folks out in condoland who have leaks from ice damming, hydrostatic pressure or just being the low point in your block with the high volume of rain and a frozen turf? Unfortunately, the answer is that in most cases, we need to wait out the weather before we can safely access the entry point for repairs. And while we are extremely compassionate to the massive amount of inconvenience that can pose to occupants, we need to remember that those who are doing the repairs must be able to do so safely, and the best we can do at the moment is mitigate the issues (if and where possible).
