When people think about a law office, they usually picture the lawyers.

The truth is, a lot of the experience people have with our firm comes from our legal assistants.

This is Lauren Payne. She works alongside Emily Tilleman-Gatz, helping clients through family law matters, estate planning, real estate transactions, and coordinating Emily's mediation files to make certain everything is organized and ready to go.

Sometimes Lauren is the first person to answer your questions (although she can't provide legal advice). Sometimes she's preparing documents, coordinating court matters, or helping move a file forward behind the scenes. Most days, she's doing a little bit of everything.

It's work that takes patience, organization, and a genuine desire to help people through what can be some very stressful situations.
