We are seeking an Associate Lawyer – Solicitor to join our busy and growing Corporate, Real Estate, and Wills and Estates practice. Our firm focuses on individual areas of law, including Real Estate, Corporate/Commercial Law, Family Law, and Wills, and Estates.

The successful candidate will:

- Have a minimum of 2-5 years of post-call experience in the area of Corporate Law, Real Estate, and/or Wills and Estates
- Be organized and have a keen attention to detail
- Be self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Have exceptional client-service and communication skills
- Possess excellent business judgement and common-sense

To be considered you must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta, and capable of immediate practice.

The management team at Alger Zadeiks Shapiro is meeting regularly to assess the firm’s response to COVID-19 and proactively manage of the impact of this situation as it evolves. The firm has instituted a number of internal measures to ensure we remain able to consistently serve our clients’ needs and provided uninterrupted service.
We have instituted business continuity plans with a view to proactively anticipate and respond to any potential for business interruption, and we have bolstered the tools we use to service our clients’ needs remotely to avoid such disruption. Our lawyers and client service teams are able to work remotely in a coordinated way and we do not anticipate any adverse impact on client service.
As part of our initial response plan, we are:

• implementing enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols in our office

• implementing and regularly updating policies for personnel who become ill or are concerned they may have been exposed to the virus

• transitioning in-office meetings and appointments (unless original signatures are required for documents) to teleconference or instant messaging platforms, until the end of April

We will continue to closely monitor relevant WHO, Public Health Agency of Canada, and local governmental/health institutions for guidance to ensure our plans and response aligns with the latest recommendations and best practices.
