Heritage Process Services Notice is usually provided by presenting the party in question with court documents such as Summonses, Statements of Claim, Plaintiff’s Claims, etc.

Process Servers are individuals who give legal notice to a party (usually the defendant) requiring them to respond to a proceeding scheduled to be held before a court, government body, or tribunal. Some documents must be served personally, while others may be served upon a person of legal age at the intended party’s residence or place of employment.

Lethbridge Police have charged a 28-year-old male with attempted murder in connection with an incident where a woman was attacked in her home.

Investigation determined the accused is unknown to the victim and the crime was a random act of violence.

On September 10, at approximately 3:30 a.m. police responded to a report that a male had broken into a home along the 200 block of Mayor Magrath Drive North and attacked a 27-year-old woman who was asleep in her bedroom.

Investigation determined the male entered through an open ground floor window and once inside, obtained a weapon of opportunity that he used to bludgeon the victim before fleeing through the same window he used to gain entry.

The victim was transported by EMS to Chinook Regional Hospital and admitted with serious head injuries. Multiple officers responded to the scene and a K9 track was conducted with negative results.

Following further investigation, surveillance video of the subject was obtained and he was subsequently identified by police. On September 11, he was located and arrested without incident.

Corbin John Maxwell, 28, of Coaldale, is charged with attempted murder and housebreaking with intent.

Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Maxwell was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 17.

We know that dealing with family law matters can be stressful. Family justice services can help Albertans resolve their cases faster and reduce wait times by offering assistance outside of the courts.

Resources include programs like mediation, family court counsellors and online parenting courses. A new online tool called the Family Resolution Hub will help self-represented litigants understand their options for dealing with family law matters outside the courtroom. The tool will also help them understand the court processes they would follow if they do have to go to court.

Lethbridge Police have charged five males in connection with an incident where a male and female were robbed at gunpoint in a hotel room and extorted for money.

On October 30, 2023 police responded to a hotel along the 2000 block of 7 Avenue South following a robbery by a group of males who were armed with fi****ms. The victims reported three male subjects, who were masked, forced their way into the room, demanded money and tied them up. An undisclosed amount was initially e-transferred before the male victim was forced into a cab and taken to a nearby bank where further cash was withdrawn and turned over to the subjects. The victims were assaulted and additional property was stolen from the hotel room before the subjects fled the area. This was a targeted incident.

Following an extensive investigation by members of the Criminal Investigation Section, five subjects were identified. Four have been arrested and one is currently wanted on outstanding warrants.

Fabian Leon Starkas Chief Body-Beebe, 28, of the Blood Reserve, Deaken Daychief, 21, of Lethbridge, Adam Eric Sebok, 30, of Lethbridge, and Charles William Good Striker, 37, of Calgary, have each been charged with break and enter commit robbery, robbery, kidnapping, extortion, using an imitation firearm while committing an offence, being disguised while committing an offence, sexual assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.

Daychief, Sebok and Good Striker have been remanded in custody and Chief Body-Beebe has been released with conditions.

Sebok and Chief Body-Beebe are scheduled to appear in court December 11, Daychief on December 18 and Good Striker on December 22.

Marvin Blake Weasel Head, 39, of the Blood Reserve, is facing the same charges as above and warrants for his arrest have been issued. A photo of Weasel Head is included for release.

Anyone who has information on Weasel Head’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 403-328-4444 and reference file 23025420. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online to Crime Stoppers at www.p3tips.com. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.

A new team of specialized sheriffs based in southern Alberta will give residents and police in the region more options for combating criminal activity.
The Alberta Sheriffs have added six positions to the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit and based them in Lethbridge, where the new team will work with local police to investigate illegal activity at problem properties throughout the region.

UPDATE 13:47: Police have taken one male safely into custody.

Members of the public may resume regular use of the area, however police will remain on scene for a short period of time.

Charges are pending and a further update will be provided when possible.
