We strive to maintain a relationship of trust, confidence and service with every client by helping them with both personal and business legal services. Conybeare was a major figure in the economic and cultural development of Lethbridge and Alberta. He was called to the bar for the Northwest Territories and moved to Lethbridge to become the City’s first lawyer. As the community’s most prominent law

yer, Conybeare handled a wide range of civil and criminal matters for the people of Lethbridge and their families, including a steady flow of wills and inheritances. He later developed his commercial clients to include the Canadian Pacific Railway, North-Western Coal and Navigation, Canadian North-West Irrigation, and numerous Cattle Companies. Conybeare understood the issues and found solutions to help the people and businesses of Lethbridge succeed, a tradition of understanding and service which continues today at Davidson & Williams.

Charlene, a dedicated partner at our firm, has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to both her profession and the Lethbridge community.

Charlene has been an active leader in the Lethbridge business and legal communities. Her extensive volunteer work spans national, provincial, and local levels, reflecting her dedication to service. She has served as a director on the boards of the Economic Development Lethbridge, Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, YWCA Lethbridge & District, and the Lethbridge Bar Association. Additionally, Charlene has been an active member of the The Canadian Bar Association / L'Association du Barreau canadien National Sections Subcommittee.

This prestigious recognition celebrates Herb's outstanding contributions to the Lethbridge Hurricanes and his unwavering dedication to the sport of hockey in our community.

Herb was one of the 15 members of the club's first Board of Directors in 1986 and was instrumental in the acquisition of the Hurricanes franchise from Calgary. His involvement with the Hurricanes spans decades, during which he played a pivotal role in shaping the club's legacy including serving as General Counsel to the Board of Directors since 1986.

Charlene currently maintains a primarily solicitor focused practice but has successfully appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Appeal. The partners of Davidson & Williams LLP are pleased to announce Deirdre McKenna was appointed as Queen’s Counsel on May 13, 2022. Deirdre has been a partner of Davidson & Williams LLP since January 1, 2010 and has been an integral part of our firm.

Deirdre is an experienced litigation lawyer who has practiced general civil litigation for a variety of corporate, public, and individual clients for over 20 years. Deirdre has considerable experience at all levels of the Alberta Courts and also advises a number of not-for-profit organizations on creation and governance, litigation, employment, and contract issues.

Deirdre is a dedicated volunteer and mentor. Over the years she has had several articling students and always takes time to ensure they are supported and successful in their journeys' to becoming lawyers. Deirdre has previously served on the Boards of a number of community not-for-profit organizations and has lectured at the Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge and the School of Business at Lethbridge College. Currently, Deirdre is a Board Member of the Alberta Law Reform Institute.
