Saskatchewan's job market is still going strong. According to Statistics Canada's latest Labour Force Survey, the province added 2,400 jobs year-over-year in September 2026, bringing its unemployment rate down to 5.4%. That's the second lowest among Canadian provinces and well below the national average of 6.5%.

Employment reached a monthly record of 625,000 workers, led by private-sector growth in manufacturing, construction, and healthcare. Youth unemployment fell to 11.4%, and both Regina and Saskatoon posted solid job gains. Provincial officials also pointed to strong housing starts and merchandise exports as further signs of Saskatchewan's economic momentum.

Manitoba PNP Draw Update: 474 Invitations Issued!

On September 24, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out 474 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for provincial nomination.

Here's who was invited:
✅ 417 workers in natural sciences, engineering, architecture, and IT occupations
✅ 1 family physician
✅ 16 French-speaking candidates
✅ 40 strategically recruited candidates

📌 What happens next?

Invited candidates have 60 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination, a key step toward Canadian permanent residence.
💼 Bonus: Successful nominees can request a work permit support letter from the MPNP and use it to apply for a
federal work permit.

On September 24, 2026, Quebec's Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI) held its 88th invitation round through the Arrima portal, issuing invitations across all four streams of the Quebec Skilled Worker

Selection Program (PSTQ):
🔹 Stream 1 – Highly Qualified & Specialized Skills: 86 candidates
🔹 Stream 2 – Intermediate & Manual Skills: ~316 candidates
🔹 Stream 3 – Regulated Professions: 110 candidates
🔹 Stream 4 – Exceptional Talent: 7 candidates

That brings Quebec's 2026 total to 15,079 invitations through Arrima so far this year.
