I’m sharing something I’ve been working on through **On Solid Ground Hub**, a support initiative I’m building to help create practical, privacy-conscious resources for people experiencing domestic abuse, coercive control, stalking, harassment, intimate partner violence, family violence, or other unsafe relationship situations.
One of the first tools I’m developing is **SolidSteps** — a low-profile mobile app that functions as a simple step-entry app, with optional support notification features for approved users. While it does **not** contact 911, police, ambulance, or emergency dispatch, it can notify a real designated support person in real time so they can determine the next appropriate steps outside the app.
This project comes from my background in justice, law, corrections, sheriff services, and family/criminal law, where I have seen the gaps that can exist between formal systems like policing, victim services, court orders, bail conditions, peace bonds, and day-to-day safety needs.
I’ve funded the project so far myself, but I’ve now started a GoFundMe to help cover continued app development, testing, hosting, privacy/security work, app store submission, and ongoing maintenance.
