Last Thursday, our team traded their desks for an afternoon of volunteering as part of United Way BC’s Day of Caring.

Pushor Mitchell Partner Andrea East will once again play a leading role at the Pacific Business & Law Institute’s Real Estate Development on First Nation Lands forum, taking place November 25 and 26, 2026, in Vancouver and online.

Andrea has been involved with the forum for several years, and this year will serve as Co-Chair, alongside Jennifer Williams of MLT Aikins. The appointment recognizes Andrea’s extensive experience working with First Nations and organizations involved in economic and real estate development on First Nation lands.

In addition to co-chairing the two-day program, Andrea will present a session on Headleases and Subleases, covering common lease structures, subleases, CMHC considerations and stand-alone leases.

The annual forum brings together First Nations leaders and officials, developers, lawyers, government representatives and other professionals to examine the legal and practical considerations involved in real estate development on First Nation lands.

We’re continuing to build a strong team at Pushor Mitchell.

Please join us in welcoming Jarrett Mancell.

Jarrett joins our team with a broad solicitor’s practice, with a focus on immigration, corporate and commercial law, real estate, and wills and estates. His experience allows him to take a practical, connected approach to helping clients navigate their legal needs while keeping their broader goals in mind.

Jarrett holds a Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, and an LL.M. in International Business Law from the Catholic University of Lyon. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2022.

Outside of his practice, Jarrett enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and snowboarding, along with travelling and exploring the Okanagan and Interior.

Paul Tonita Elected Director of the Kelowna Bar Association

Congratulations to Paul Tonita, who has been elected as a Director of the Kelowna Bar Association.

The Kelowna Bar Association supports the local legal community through professional development, connection and community involvement. As a Director, Paul will have the opportunity to contribute to that work and support the legal profession in the region.

Paul is a Partner at Pushor Mitchell and has deep roots in the Okanagan. His election to the KBA Board is a fitting extension of his commitment to both his profession and the community he calls home.

This past weekend, Pushor Mitchell team members joined business leaders and industry professionals from across B.C. at the Automotive Retailers Association’s 75th Anniversary Members Retreat & Gala Fundraiser.

Mark Brade, an associate lawyer at Pushor Mitchell, was invited to share his expertise on business succession and transition as part of a panel discussion alongside professionals from Sun Life and KPMG. The conversation explored the legal, tax and financial considerations that business owners may encounter when planning for the future of their businesses.

Thank you to the ARA for bringing the industry together for a weekend of meaningful conversations, connections and a celebration of 75 years of the association.

Our partner, Bryan Fitzpatrick, recently took part in the Lake Valley Homes’ 2nd Annual Charity Classic at Sunset Ranch.

The tournament brought together leaders from across the construction and development industry for a day of golf, connection and community impact, while raising funds in support of the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation’s Pediatric Department.

It was great to see Bryan on the course supporting an initiative that helps local children and families access the care and resources they need close to home.

One conversation can open a door you never expected.

When Trinity Dunham attended a United Way event in 2025, she never imagined the evening would lead to a career opportunity at Pushor Mitchell.

After sharing her story as an impact speaker, Trinity connected with members of our team, who learned she was studying in Okanagan College’s Paralegal Program. A business card tucked into her wallet eventually led to a practicum opportunity with Pushor Mitchell, and today, Trinity is a Legal Assistant with our firm.

Nearly a year later, Trinity returned to the United Way BC - Southern Interior Kick-Off Breakfast, this time as a member of the Pushor Mitchell team, sharing her story once again and taking part in United Way’s Day of Caring.

For Trinity, it was a full-circle moment and a reminder of the meaningful opportunities that can come from community connections.

We’re grateful to have Trinity on our team and to continue supporting the United Way and the work they do to create opportunities and strengthen our community.
