This morning, I received a call from Singapore from a mother who wanted to explore permanent residency options for her son, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the United Kingdom.
She had contacted us in September last year, and during our consultation, I explained that, given the current immigration situation in Canada and her son’s low CRS score, we would likely not be able to help him obtain permanent residency at this time.
Today, she called back to tell me that after our consultation, they hired another consultant who promised to bring her son to Canada with a job offer and eventually help him obtain permanent residency.
Unfortunately, after spending $8,500, all they received was a simple job offer letter—without an LMIA—and her son’s CRS score is still below 415. She told me, “You were honest, and I should have listened to your advice instead of hiring another consultant.”
This is an important reminder for anyone considering Canadian immigration: be cautious of unrealistic promises. Always verify the facts, understand your eligibility, and work with professionals who provide honest advice—even if it’s not the answer you were hoping for
