Represented a young and beautiful lady today. At first tension was high bc lawyer didn't know enough about aboriginal sentencing and it wasn't productive. The crown wanted house arrest for 6 months and 3 year prohibition of no driving And we argued under Gladue to have the community be the ppl who should heal the defendant change constructively and the judge agreed w/ my interpretation even after I got dismissed by the judge. I am happy to give guidance and that our judge was knowledgeable and that no detention or house arrest was given and no driving prohibition. Awesome job to the point even the lawyer was stunned by the outcome. Great full to show my abilities!!!!!

My office pics w/ a map of all aboriginal communities in Quebec and me getting ready to represent my 1st client. Though the process proved indifferent at times. I feel that justice prevailed due to my enormous amount of knowledge of sec 718.2(e) and the principle of the scc decision of Gladue that reflects restorative justice.
